Kelly Pugh
Kelly Pugh did her first event when she was seven years old and has not missed a competition season since then. She competed in her first one star at the age of 14 at Galway Downs and won on her dressage score with her horse For Kicks "Kicks". She competed at North American Young Rider Championships with him in 2005 and was the highest placed west coast rider. She went on to compete him through the two star level along with her other horse George Jacob "George". She has had many top placings at the Intermediate level with them, and has gone on to be the Area VI top placed young rider.
After retiring George from competition and selling Kicks, Kelly got a talented mare name Annie Oakley III "AO". She competed AO through the Intermediate level and started to bring along a young horse named Copycat Chloe. Chloe came to her as a green 6 year old with little experience. In two short years Kelly had brought the horse up through the levels and went on to win the Individual gold medal at the North American Young Rider Championships in 2010 and also brought home team silver. In addition to that in 2010 and 2011 Kelly was named to the Developing Riders list on Copycat Chloe, and Chloe was also named 2010 Trakehner Horse of the Year!
Kelly has ridden and trained out of Flying Tail Farms in Gilroy California for most of her life working with Dayna Lynd Pugh and Shannon Lilley. She is currently based on the east coast with Allison Springer as she prepares for the CCI *** at Bromont on her current mount Chloe.
