Christa Gandolfo

Christa has been around horses all of her life.  She started seriously taking riding lessons at the age of nine at a local lesson barn, Lord Stirling Stable in Basking Ridge, NJ. She has been eventing since the age of 13, when she began training with Olympic judge, Marilyn Payne and her daughter Holly a three-star event rider.

When Christa was 16, she decided to fully devote herself to her horses and the sport of Eventing, and convinced her parents to home school her, allowing more time to train. Christa then began taking lessons with world renowned Olympic event riders, Phillip Dutton, Boyd Martin and his wife, world-class dressage rider Silva Martin.

By the age of 19, Christa had competed in her first CIC two-star at Plantation Field (where she finished 13th), and Stuart Horse Trials. At the end of the 2008 season Christa was ranked 5th in the country in the preliminary young rider division. In 2009, Christa competed all three of her horses at the two-star level and also competed in her first advanced horse trial.

Christa has moved to Florida and has four very talented horses; Thalia Light, a 13 year old Irish Sport horse, Governaire a 10 year old New Zealand Thoroughbred, Shahaadi a 9 year old Thoroughbred and Camenicci a five year old Oldenburg. She currently trains with Olympic Gold Medalist Leslie Law, and international dressage rider Oded Shimoni and runs her own business "G.E.T Equestrian Sports" out of Palm Beach, Florida.  Her current goals are to have Thalia Light, Shahaadi, and Governaire compete at the advanced level by the end of the 2011 year, and to have Camenicci compete at the preliminary/one star level.  Her overall goal is to represent her country at the highest level of competition.
